Adult and Family Ministries—Older Adult Ministries
Although we pride ourselves in being an inter-generational congregation, we also realize the importance of offering opportunities for fellowship and a feeling of belonging for different age groups.
Two daytime activities for older adults are Cookies and Conversation, which meets at the church at 1 p.m. on the second Friday of the month and the Lunch Bunch, meeting on the fourth Thursday. Day trips are also planned at least quarterly.
A Health Fair is held at the church every other year, and flu shots are given every year, with transportation provided for those who need it. When people are no longer able to go to church, the church goes to them: they may receive monthly visits from the Commissioned Lay Pastor for Congregational Care, including communion four times annually, audio tapes of the worship services, and if they wish, weekly visits from a Stephen Minister. The Care Team Ministry is also available for shut-ins who need it.
