Children's Ministries—Prime Time Wednesday
The Logos Program, an internationally known program, is "the theology and practice of Christian relationships in a disciplined, midweek, four-part context." Prime Time Wednesday is St. Charles Presbyterian Church's version of Logos. The purposes of Prime Time are:
- To create an understanding and desire in young people for accepting Christ as Lord and Savior;
- To develop intelligent, active and loyal membership and leadership in the church;
- To give worthwhile study, wholesome recreation and opportunities for service tied together with Christian fellowship;
- To develop Christians who are willing and able to communicate their faith and assume personal responsibility in assisting in the building of God's kingdom on earth.
This is a 10-week program in the fall and the spring of the year, open to kindergarten through senior high. We begin at 4:30 with "gathering time," then worship skills, recreation/crafts, family time (dinner) and end with an hour of Bible Study, divided into four groups: primary, elementary, middler and senior high.
An important bonus in this program is adult involvement: we have 60 adults of all ages working together: teachers, craft leaders, music directors, cooks, clean-up people, dinner dean and table parents. We believe that the adults derive as much joy from the program as do the youth.
