Youth Ministries—Youth Fellowship

The youth meet regularly on Sunday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. for fellowship, ending with a light supper. Our schedule is adjusted for special activities that take us away from church or are better suited for other times of the day. Activities include lock-ins for senior high and middlers, bowling, paintball, super bowl party, swim party, demolition ball, drive-in movie, Youth Sunday and church ushering.

Our fund-raisers include a car wash in the spring and in the fall and the Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by the Congregational Life Committee.

Our most recognized service for the church is setting out luminaries on Christmas Eve. The church exterior is beautifully lit with the soft glow of approximately 600 candles. We have established a tradition of picking the luminaries up and storing them at 7:00 a.m. Christmas morning. Both youth and adults participate in this activity.

The highlight of our youth program is our Youth Mission Trip. Since 1997 we have been traveling to Pensacola, Florida to help Pensacola Habitat for Humanity to build homes. As of the summer of 2004, we have built 15 homes. The Mission Trip is open to all participating members of the youth group who have completed the eighth grade. There is a shared cost, with the church providing the majority of the funds.
