Rev. Ronnie Osborn - Pastor
The Reverend Ronnie Osborn arrived in September 2005 to serve as Pastor at St. Charles Presbyterian Church. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Ronnie was introduced to the Presbyterian Church through Colonial Presbyterian Church's dynamic youth ministries. Later he joined Village Presbyterian Church while working on staff in their Youth Ministry program. He attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas and received his B.A. in Psychology. After college Ronnie worked in the field of Social Services as a Deputy Juvenile Officer for the state of Missouri and as a District Program Director for the Y.M.C.A. of Greater Kansas City. In 1989, he entered seminary and received his Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Since his ordination in November of 1992, Ronnie has served churches in Omaha, Nebraska; Euharlee, Georgia; and now St. Charles, Missouri. In Omaha, Ronnie began his studies in the Masters of Christian Spirituality Program from Creighton University where he discovered the ancient spiritual practices of prayer and discernment. His passions are his call as an apostle of Jesus Christ, his family, reading, golf, and Mickey Mouse. He is married to Margaret Osborn and they have two wonderful children: Bethany, a student at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia; and Jordan, a student at Francis Howell North High School.
Carolyn Newcomb - Assistant to the Minister for Congregational Care
Carolyn Newcomb was born and reared in the St. Louis area. She is a graduate of Central Missouri State University, where she received a degree in teaching. She also received a Masters degree in Special Education from Lindenwood University. Carolyn taught for 30 years in the St. Charles School District. A widow, she has three grown children and four teenaged grandchildren. After her retirement from teaching, Carolyn began doing volunteer work at St. Charles Presbyterian Church, where she has been a member since 1963. Carolyn became part of the staff for Congregational Care in 1999. In 2003, she completed her Lay Pastor studies. She was commissioned as the Commissioned Lay Pastor for Congregational Care at St. Charles Presbyterian Church on 23 November 2003.
Nancy Simpson - Director of Education and Development Center
Nancy Simpson began teaching in the St. Charles Presbyterian Educational and Developmental Center in 1980 and assumed the Director's position in 1985. She was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in north St. Louis County. Nancy's family attended Christ United Presbyterian Church in north St. Louis, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She received an education degree from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, and since that time she has continued taking college courses and attending workshops and conferences to keep her education updated. Nancy has served on the Board of Deacons at St. Charles Presbyterian and on the St. Charles School District's Parents-as-Teachers advisory board. Nancy and her husband, Larry Simpson, have three sons, Chris, Matt, and Scott, a daughter-in-law, Emma, and a granddaughter, Vivian.
